Thoughts

It is with much sadness for my dearest friend, Munohari and dear Joice Aunty that I write this note in memory of dear Indran Uncle. I have such fond memories of uncle and his love and affection he showed my brother and I. On many occasions we would spend endless hours at their home building memories that have remained to this day. May you rest in peace uncle. With much love, Neeru

We have been close to of Indran, Malar and Munohari for several years as relatives and friends Indran's and Malar's love story does back many years in Sri Lanka. Malar was for a while staying as a lodger in my (Bala's) Aunt's home in Colombo. My Sisters have told me that they recall Indran frequently coming to our Aunt's home to visit Malar, during their courtship. After Thiru moved to London, she recalls the time when she was once returning to London from Sri Lanka she was requested by Indran to take a special stop in Chennai for Indran to purchase some special saris for Malar. Thiru, our young children and I lived in Rayners Lane, Middlesex in the late1970's and early 80's, close to Indran's home. We have very pleasant memories of meeting Indran, Malar and Munohari often in our homes and having some good times. Subsequently after moving to Canada, it was always a joy for us to meet with Indran and family during our visits to London. Indran had a jest for life and interest in people and things happening around him. Hence it was always a privilege to sit and converse with him. One of the projects dear to his heart was to compile his family tree. He made it a point to send his draft to Thiru's family and ask the family's input to the family tree before he published it. Our heartfelt condolences to Malar, Munohari and family at this sad time. These are the inevitable stages of our lives on this earth and maybe they will be comforted with the thought that Indran is now safely in the arms of our God, free from any further pain and physical hardship, until they meet again. Thiru and I will always retain fond memories of Indran's presence in our lives. Bala and Thiru Abraham (Toronto, Canada)

I am writing this thought with a heavy heart. Indra mama made the biggest impact on my student life in England between 1979 and 1983. During those years, whenever I returned from my summer holidays to Sri lanka, Indra mama would often pick me up from the airport and make me rest a couple of days prior to my return to Leeds where I was a student. Upon my graduation I was invited by Indra mama to stay in their house and look for a job. I very much appreciated his offer and was well taken care of by Malar Aunty and Indra mama for the entire summer of 1982. They even helped me to get part time employment while helping me out with my Resume and cover letters. During that time I was so comfortable and I felt welcoming. I remember watching the 1982 world cup football games and cricket highlights with Indra mama. Indra mama was a sweet gentleman, with extra ordinary manners. He was very kind and was a lavish spender. He loved to enjoy life and was very sociable. He was genuine and often too caring. My family loved him so much. Indra mama, I love you and may you rest in peace with the Angels and you have earned it. Much love to Malar Aunty, Manohari and family, Dathan (Vamadeva Siddarthan)
